A wonderful silver plate oval soup spoon by American Silver. The pattern is called Tipped with a wing design on the end of the handle. A wonderful addition to a silverware collection.
The American Silver Company was founded in 1902 by seven men in Newburyport, Massachusetts. They made a full line of sterling tableware, souvenir spoons, and novelties for the New England and national markets. The company incorporated in 1903. This company was bought by International Silver Co. in 1935.

This soup spoon is in very good condition. It has the American Silver mark which indicates it is older than newer ones marked with the International Silver stamp. The spoon has no pitting just the usual rubbing from being loved and used over the years.
I clean all silver in my shop so that I can detect any defects to be able to give an accurate account of its condition.
