History
Department 56 introduced “Sprinkling Stars in the Sky” in December 1993 as part of its Snowbabies ornament collection. It remained in production until December 1997, when Department 56 retired the design.
The piece is identified as item #68489, and collector references also document its 1993 introduction and 1997 retirement. The design belongs to a group of star-themed Snowbabies produced during the 1990s. Unlike the larger display figurines, this example was made specifically as a hanging Christmas ornament, with the Snowbaby lying across a star and holding a ribbon of smaller stars.
