A gorgeous set of 4 bread and butter plates by Sango China made in Occupied Japan. The pattern name is Floradel and consists of multicolored flowers a white background with gold trim. These would be fantastic on a dinner table, sideboard, or buffet.
Many items being exported from Japan from 1945 to 1952 were required by law to be marked with the words “Occupied Japan”, or “Made in Occupied Japan”. General Douglas MacArthur started this to help Japanese people with their post-war economic recovery.

These lovely plates are in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. The gold shows no wear at all.
