Egginton EAPG Vase, Square, Antique Crystal, Flowers and Leaves, Wheel Cut, Cut Glass, Clear Glass
A gorgeous large square antique crystal EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass) vase by Egginton and Company. The pattern is flowers and leaves on the body with cross-hatch rim. This is a combination of wheel cut and pressed glass. It was made in Corning, NY and I saw one just like this on the Corning Museum of Glass website. It dates from about 1916. This very is very thick and heavy. Perfect for a dozen long stem roses.
10 inches in height
4 inches square
This antique vase is in great condition. There are no cracks and the glass is clear and bright. It has one chip which is at the bottom of one corner. This doesn't take away from its beauty. Because the chip is at the bottom and the glass is cut it is not possible to really get a photo of it. The bottom has it's usual shelf wear. None of this is unusual for antique cut glass, the age of this is approximately 105 years old. Our price does reflect it's imperfection.
One of the many ways to tell original American Brilliant cut glass is to check it under a black light. If it is real it will fluoresce a lime green color. This item has been checked and does.
This would make a great gift for a collector or lover of antique glass. A great piece to add to your collection.
