Antique Luncheon Plate, Paden City, Petit Point, Floral, Cobalt Blue, Gold Trim

A lovely antique luncheon plate by Paden City. This plate has flowers in a petit point pattern in the center and a cobalt blue rim with a gold overlay. It would make a pretty display plate.

Paden City Pottery, was established in 1914. George R. Wallace, a Pittsburgh attorney was its first president. The company initially made art ware and kitchenware in brown and white. In the 1920s, Paden City Pottery began manufacturing high quality, semi-porcelain dinnerware. Paden City was a pioneer in the production of semi-porcelain and in the use of a spraying apparatus to apply colored glazes. The quality of Paden City’s decals were such that their decals were often assumed to be hand painted. Paden City Pottery ceased operations in November 1963.

Size:
9½ inches in diameter

This plate is in good condition. It has no chips or cracks. It is heavily crazed (please see photos) which we think adds character to this antique plate.
