A beautiful set of six crystal wine glasses by Bohemia Crystal and made in Czechoslovakia. This set is in the Isabelle pattern which consists of a clear bowl with a faceted stem. The glasses are new old stock in their original box with their original stickers making these a wonderful vintage gift. These would be perfect glasses for a wedding or other special occasion. Wonderful for celebrating the holidays. A perfect addition to a stemware collection or for a home bar.
The history of Bohemia crystal dates back to the 3rd century BC, when the Celts settled in the area and produced blown glass. The glassmakers discovered that potash and chalk made their products more stable than Italian imports. The glass industry in Bohemia developed strongly in the 8th to 10th centuries, when glass furnaces were mostly used to produce glass costume jewelry. The oldest Bohemia glass was made in the mid-14th century and was nearly transparent. The glass was used to create goblets, cups, and church windows. The Bohemia crystal industry has been based on craftsmanship, technical skill, and artistic integrity for more than 800 years. The Bohemia brand represents affordable luxury, quality, sophistication, and elegance.
