Sterling Silver Sugar Spoon, Antique Sugar Shell Spoon, Towle, No 43 Floral Engraved, Circa 1882

A wonderful sugar shell spoon by Towle Silver. This is made of Sterling Silver and is marked Sterling. The pattern is called No. 43 and consists of an engraved floral pattern. This is a gorgeous collectible spoon and would be a wonderful addition to a sugar bowl (we recommend an EAPG or American Brilliant from the same time period) or as a gift idea.

Towle Silversmiths use sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, usually copper.
Sterling silverware made in the USA after roughly the 1850s always has a marking: either Sterling or 925.

Size
5½ inches in length
Manufacture Date: Circa 1882

This spoon is in very good condition. The handle has a slight bend in it near the neck. The bowl has some light yellowing from age.

I polish all of my silver items so I can detect any pitting or marks.
