Silver Plated Forks, 1847 Rogers Bros, International Silver, Sharon Pattern, 7.5 Inch, Set of 2

A wonderful set of two silver plated forks by Rogers Bros. The pattern is called Sharon which consists of roses and other flowers. The forks are heavy and have a nice feel in your hand. A wonderful addition to a silverware collection.

“1847 Rogers Bros” was actually a trademark used, starting in 1862. The Roger's name was used multiple times during this time period in the silver making industry. Some were relatives but many were just anxious to get their brand recognized. In 1862 Meriden Britannia Company bought the hollowware division, tools, and dies from Rogers Brothers Mfg. Co. Many independent silversmiths joined together with that shop to form International Silver Co that became the world's largest manufacturer of silverware. Rogers 1847 became the trademark of that new firm. Due to this, it is hard to pinpoint the exact date of this silverware.

Size:
7½ inches in length

These forks are in very good condition. There is the usual wear to older silverware, but it is still bright and shiny.

I clean all silver in my shop so that I can detect any defects to be able to give an accurate account of its condition.
