A gorgeous antique bon bon bowl by Northwood Glass. It is EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass). The pattern is Klondyke and consists of a fluted scroll design in green glass. This would be a wonderful addition to a coffee table, sideboard, buffet, or on an entryway table. An heirloom piece and a great gift for a collector of antique glass.
The Northwood Glass Company was founded by Harry Northwood, the son of a glass manufacturer, in 1887. Northwood, who was born in 1860, trained in England and emigrated to the United States in 1881. He opened his first glass factory in Martin's Ferry, Ohio. The company produced many types of glass, including carnival glass and opalescent glass. In 1899, the company became part of the National Glass Company. The company operated in various locations in the United States until 1925.
