A wonderful creamer by Blenko. The creamer is hand blown with a pontil mark on the bottom which Blenko is known for. A left-handed glass creamer is a small pitcher or jug designed for holding cream or milk to be served with tea or coffee. Left-handed creamers are not common. They are designed for left-handed people and Blenko creamers have characteristics such as a smooth, thick rim and a pontil mark on the bottom. This would also make a great small syrup, honey, or sauce pitcher. It would be wonderful on a table, sideboard, or buffet. A wonderful gift idea for the lefty in your life.
The Blenko Glass Company was founded in 1893 by William J. Blenko who was born in England in 1853 and began working in London glass houses at age 13. It is a family-owned company that specializes in hand-blown sheet glass, architectural glass, and tableware. They are known for their exquisite color, skilled craftsmanship, and imaginative designs. Blenko has been located in Milton, West Virginia since 1921, and four generations of the Blenko family have succeeded one another as president of the company.
