A wonderful children's hardcover book called Belling The Tiger and Illustrated by Beni Montresor. Weekly Reader 1961 edition.

When two little mice attempt to bell the house cat, they inadvertently become stowaways on a ship to a strange land where they befriend a tiger and scare an elephant.

Mary Stolz (1920 – 2006) was an American writer of fiction for children and young adults. She received the 1953 Child Study Association of America's Children's Book Award for, In a Mirror, Newbery Honors in 1962 for Belling the Tiger and 1966, for The Noonday Friends, and her entire body of work was awarded the George G. Stone Recognition of Merit in 1982. Her literary works range from picture books to young-adult novels.

Beni Montresor (1926 – 2001) was a versatile Italian artist, opera and film director, set designer, author and children's book illustrator. He won the 1965 Caldecott Medal for U.S. picture book illustration, recognizing May I Bring a Friend?. The Italian government knighted him in 1966 for his contributions to the arts.

This book is in Very Good condition. Binding is tight and the covers are clean with just the usual shelf wear and rubbing to the corners. Pages are white and clean with the exception of the front flyleaf that has a handwritten inscription. This book is over 65 years old.

As New: The book is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been lost in a warehouse for years, never shelved, thumbed or even opened yet may still be some years old.

Fine: A Fine book approaches the condition of As New, but without being crisp. The book may have been opened and read, but there are no defects to the book, jacket or pages.
