Oval Platter, Royal (USA), Old Curiosity Shop, 13 Inch, Old World Scene
A wonderful platter full of Old World charm made by Royal and made in the USA. The pattern is called The Old Curiosity Shop and features a scene of a shop surrounded by buildings, on a street. The plate's rim is decorated with a hinge design. During the 1950's Royal China started manufacture of this interesting sage green dinnerware pattern. It features authentic reproductions of old world traditional scenes and was inspired by the Charles Dickens novel "The Old Curiosity Shop". What a wonderful statement it will make on your table, buffet, or sideboard.

This platter is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. It does have a few utensil marks from years of being loved and used, this platter is approximately 70 years old. There is no makers mark on the back as manufacturers of china of this period didn't mark every piece of a dinnerware set to save manufacturing time and ink costs.
