This is a cheerful little set of two vintage plates by Okwan China, made in Japan during the 1950s or early 1960s. These hand-painted plates have a bright yellow glaze and a clean, simple design that fits right in with mid-century modern kitchenware. These would look great in a retro kitchen, used daily or displayed on open shelving. They also make a thoughtful little gift for anyone who loves mid-century design or vintage Japan-made china.
Each plate measures 6½ inches in diameter – a perfect size for bread and butter, desserts, or small salads.
The plates are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. One plate is pristine. The other has a rub mark that has worn through the glaze and paint down to the base, as shown in the photo. It’s cosmetic only and doesn’t affect the integrity of the piece.
