This is a cheerful set of three vintage saucers by Okwan China, hand painted in a sunny yellow glaze. The bright, glossy finish is clean and vibrant, showing the quality of mid-century Japanese export porcelain. Okwan China was one of many smaller Japanese makers producing for the export market during the mid-20th century. Pieces were often sold through department stores and gift shops, with colors and styles aimed at the modern kitchen of the 1950s and 60s. While these were originally made as saucers, they work beautifully as small dessert or bread plates, snack dishes, or to replace missing pieces in an Okwan China set. Their timeless color also makes them easy to mix and match with other mid-century tableware.
