If you love a touch of true Depression-era charm on your table, this Lily Pons berry set by Indiana Glass has it. Produced in the mid-1930s and named after the famous opera soprano, these clear pressed glass bowls were the kind of pretty yet practical dishes families brought out for Sunday desserts or holiday fruit salads. On a Sunday afternoon in the late 1930s, you might have found these very bowls set out on a lace-covered table, each one brimming with fresh berries or homemade ice cream. Lily Pons herself was dazzling opera crowds then, and Indiana Glass borrowed her name for this cheery floral pattern—an affordable sparkle that made even a simple family dessert feel like an occasion. Nearly a century later, these bowls still catch the light and carry that same sense of celebration. Pieces like this were everyday treasures during lean times—affordable sparkle that made a family dinner feel special. Today, they’re perfect for serving berries, ice cream, or even as a charming centerpiece on a vintage-inspired table.
