This is a Federal Glass relish dish in the Windsor pattern, made sometime between 1974 and 1979. It’s one of those sturdy, no-nonsense serving pieces that showed up at just about every family gathering back in the day. The pressed glass sparkles with that old-fashioned button and cane design, with a sunburst center that catches the light just right. It’s divided down the middle, so you can picture it holding celery and carrots on one side, and black olives or pickles on the other — the kinds of little touches that always showed up at Sunday dinners, holiday spreads, and neighborhood potlucks. It’s just the right size for entertaining without taking over the table. Federal Glass made Windsor near the end of their long run before closing in 1979, so this dish is both a nod to simpler times and a collectible piece of American glass history. Whether you use it for serving, for display, or to complete a Windsor set, this dish has that vintage charm that never really goes out of style.
