These lovely old plates come from a quieter time — late Victorian days when a pretty table was a sign of good company and good manners. Made by Carl Tielsch & Co. of Altwasser, Silesia (Germany) sometime between 1880 and 1900, each plate carries a soft garland of tiny pink roses and green leaves winding around the edge, framed by gentle scallops and raised scrollwork. These would look lovely on display, or they could easily serve again for dessert, tea sandwiches, or a quiet afternoon snack. Whether you’re replacing a lost piece or starting a new collection, they carry that unmistakable charm of the Victorian German porcelain era.

Condition: Excellent for age
Two plates each have one small chip on the underside rim only (not visible from top). None of the plates have any cracks or crazing. Amazingly they have only light utensil marks. These are made of fine white porcelain — thin, but strong, with that faint translucent glow you only see in old European china. The maker’s mark on the back shows the green eagle with “C.T.” beneath, used by Tielsch in the late 19th century.
