This is the original clothing set from the Madame Alexander “Italy” International Doll, made for the 8-inch Alexander style doll. The outfit includes the black velvet bodice with white blouse, green skirt, white apron with floral trim, petticoat, bloomers, and socks. All pieces are in very good vintage condition, with no rips or repairs. There is some light yellowing on the apron and socks from age, which is typical for fabrics of this era. This outfit is tagged “Italy by Madame Alexander, New York, U.S.A.”, a style of label used in the mid-1960s to early 1970s. These International Series outfits were designed to represent traditional dress from countries around the world and were beautifully detailed for their size — a hallmark of Madame Alexander craftsmanship. A wonderful find for a collector restoring a vintage doll or completing an International Doll display.
