Sometimes these old Madame Alexander dolls show up looking like they’re ready for a parade, and sometimes they come in looking like they’ve been sitting quietly on a shelf for a few years. This little Poland girl is the second kind — sweet as can be, but she’s showing her age in a few honest places. She still has her original box, hangtag, and doll stand, which is always nice to see. Her eyes open and close just fine, and that helps bring her back to life the moment you set her upright. Her outfit is still colorful with all the ribbons, flowers, and trims you expect from the Poland costume. But the truth is, the clothing has picked up some dust from years of display, and there’s a brown stain along the bottom edge of her skirt that just comes with time. Her little floral headdress is hanging on by a stretched string, so it sits very loose. Her limbs and neck have loosened with age too — normal for dolls from this time, but still, something worth mentioning.
Her box is in very good shape with the usual scuffs and light wear from storage. It’s the classic blue diamond pattern box from that era, and it protects her well. If you collect the international dolls or you enjoy bringing these older pieces back to their full charm, she’s a good honest example.
