This is one of those pieces that takes you right back to the 1960s, when Trifari was making these molded-petal flowers that look like they ought to have a scent. This big yellow daisy is a cheerful one — 3¼ inches long and about 2 inches wide — and those soft glowing petals are the classic thermoplastic Trifari used in their flower line. They catch the light in that old-fashioned way that resin never quite manages. The leaves and stem are trimmed in gold-tone metal with green enamel. Everything is bright and cheerful, with just a bit of gold missing at the bottom of the stem, nothing that takes away from how well this brooch has been cared for. All the petals are intact, the pin mechanism works just as it should, and the back carries the crowned Trifari mark. It’s the kind of piece someone wore on a Sunday coat or an Easter dress, then tucked away carefully. Now it’s ready for its next chapter.
