Sometimes the simplest things are the ones you reach for the most. These two little stoneware bowls have that familiar speckled oatmeal glaze that showed up in a lot of small pottery studios back in the 80s. They’re the kind of pieces somebody probably made in a small workshop or local ceramics class, where everything was done by hand and nothing ever looked exactly like its neighbor. They’re just the right size for a spoonful of sugar, a bit of chopped onions, dipping sauce, or whatever you’re getting ready for supper. The bases are unglazed, just plain stoneware the way most studio potters left them. If you enjoy everyday pieces with a bit of old studio-craft charm, these fit right in. Quiet, sturdy, and useful — the kind of little bowls that always seem to earn their keep.
