This is Rhymes & Reasons, the album where John Denver first stepped out as more than just a songwriter. Released in 1969 on RCA Victor, this was Denver’s debut studio album—quiet, thoughtful, and very much of its time. Folk music with something to say. You’ll find early versions of songs like Leaving on a Jet Plane and Today Is the First Day of the Rest of My Life, before he became the stadium-filling name most people remember.
This copy has clearly lived a life. The album cover shows heavy wear, with tearing along one side, weak seams all the way around, and rubbing from years of handling and storage. It’s honest wear, not hidden, and it’s reflected in the price. The original inner sleeve is included, which is always a plus. The vinyl itself looks decent, but we sell our records as-is and do not guarantee playing quality. We haven’t play-tested it, so this is best suited for a listener who understands vintage records or a collector looking to fill a spot on the shelf.
