If you’ve ever sat on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee and wondered which bird was doing all the talking, this vintage Peterson set would’ve been your guide. Long before apps could ID a song with a tap, birders used these records to match calls with the illustrations in A Field Guide to Birds. This is the two-record set that was recorded to pair with A Field Guide to Bird Songs of Eastern and Central North America, with Roger Tory Peterson’s classic field guide (which is NOT included). The records feature real field recordings—clean, crisp, and labeled so you can follow along with the included booklet. Both LPs look very good with no harsh scratches and just normal light surface wear from age, sold as is and not tested. The original paper sleeves are intact, with only some gentle yellowing. The booklet is in very good shape too—no writing or tears. The cover shows rubbing and a bit of corner wear. For being roughly fifty years old, it’s held up very well. If you’re a birder, a Peterson collector, or just someone who likes these older educational records, this one is worth having. It still does exactly what it was made to do, help you identify birds songs.
