This vintage oval platter is part of the beloved Autumn Leaf pattern made by the Hall China Company, one of the most respected American pottery makers of the 20th century. Autumn Leaf was introduced in 1933 and quickly became a household staple, especially during the Depression years, when families wanted dinnerware that was attractive, affordable, and made to last.
Hall’s pottery was fired at higher temperatures than most, resulting in a dense, durable body that resisted chipping and crazing. These pieces weren’t meant to sit in a cabinet — they were meant to be used, passed around the table, and enjoyed every day. This platter measures 13½ inches long by 10¼ inches wide, making it a great size for serving roasts, vegetables, or holiday meals.
