This is the self-titled album The Carpenters, released in 1971 on A&M Records (catalog number SP-3502). This album cemented the Carpenters as one of the defining soft-rock acts of the early 1970s and includes some of their most recognizable songs, including Rainy Days and Mondays, Superstar, For All We Know, and Saturday. The cover is the original matte, uncoated cardboard sleeve, which is known to yellow with age. This copy shows natural aging along the edges, some rubbing on the front and back, and a stain near the top of the front cover. There are no seam splits, tears, or structural damage, which is often the first thing to go on these. The original inner sleeve is included and shows light age yellowing, with no splits or tears. The vinyl itself shows no major scratches and retains good surface shine. As with all of our records, this album is sold AS IS and unplayed, but visually it presents very well for its age.
A solid original-era pressing of a classic album — perfect for a Carpenters fan, a vintage vinyl collector, or anyone rebuilding a 1970s record shelf.
