Some records simply bring you right back to the sound of the late 1970s, and Phoenix by Dan Fogelberg is one of those albums. Released in 1979 on Epic Records, this record includes the well-known hit “Longer,” along with other favorites like “Heart Hotels” and “Face the Fire.” The vinyl still shows a nice glossy finish with only light sleeve marks from normal storage. The gatefold cover remains strong and clean with crisp edges and only very light shelf wear. The spine is solid and fully readable. The original inner sleeve is included and has no splits, which is always nice to see on a record from this era. A nice clean copy of a classic late-1970s album, ready for a collection or for spinning on the turntable again.
An interesting detail: Collectors often enjoy what is found in the runout grooves of the vinyl. This pressing includes hand-etched messages reading “The kids will never know” and “Let’s ask the weasel,” a bit of studio humor sometimes added by mastering engineers.
