Some china patterns seem to have been everywhere at one time, and Moss Rose is certainly one of them. For generations this soft rosebud design showed up on tables for everyday meals as well as Sunday dinners. These vintage salad plates feature the classic Moss Rose pattern, with deep pink rosebuds, green leaves, and delicate sprigs arranged around the rim. The edge of the plates has a softly scalloped embossed border finished with a thin gold trim that adds just a touch of elegance.
The Moss Rose design was produced by many different china companies throughout the mid-20th century. Because several makers used the same design, some pieces like these were sold without a manufacturer’s mark. These plates are perfect for replacing missing pieces in a Moss Rose set, can be used for desserts or salads, or simply adding a little vintage charm to your table.
Condition:
Both plates are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is light rubbing to the gold trim from normal use and some small glaze bubbles from manufacturing, which are common on mid-century porcelain and do not affect use.
