Some records just look like they’ve been cared for, and this one certainly has that feel. This is Just for Love by Quicksilver Messenger Service, released in 1970 on Capitol Records during the height of the San Francisco psychedelic rock scene. The album comes in its original gatefold cover featuring the colorful artwork that fans of late-60s and early-70s rock will instantly recognize. The cover shows light rubbing and edge wear from years of handling but no seam splits. Open it up and the inside gatefold artwork is still bright and clean. The vinyl still has a strong glossy shine with only very light surface marks visible under bright light. It has clearly been played but also clearly taken care of. The album includes the well-known track “Fresh Air” along with songs like Wolf Run and Cobra, capturing that laid-back West Coast psychedelic sound that made Quicksilver Messenger Service part of the legendary San Francisco music scene. The record will ship with the original Capitol inner sleeve, which shows some age yellowing around the edges. Like all vintage records in our shop, this album is sold as-is and has not been play tested.
A great addition for anyone who enjoys classic psychedelic rock or collects original Capitol Records pressings.
