Antique Limoges porcelain is very special. The pieces have a quiet elegance that never seems to go out of style, and this Victorian serving plate is a perfect example. This piece was made by Charles Field Haviland in Limoges, France, using a porcelain blank from Gérard, Dufraisseix & Morel, as shown by the CFH over GDM backstamp on the underside. That mark places the piece in the late 1800s, around the 1880s–1890s. The delicate decoration is known to Haviland collectors as Schleiger Pattern 1306, featuring small pink blossoms with soft brown leaves and scattered floral sprigs across bright white Limoges porcelain. A light touch of gold trim accents the gently scalloped rim. The softly square shape makes this piece especially charming. In Victorian homes plates like this were commonly used for tea sandwiches, pastries, small cakes, or sweets during afternoon tea. Even after more than a century, the porcelain remains bright and elegant. This beautiful piece would make a lovely addition to a Haviland Limoges collection, a Victorian china display, or simply a graceful serving plate for special occasions.
Condition: Excellent antique condition.
No chips, cracks, or crazing.
There is light wear to the gold trim consistent with age and gentle use.
