These vintage salad plates were made by the Royal China Company of Sebring, Ohio and come from their Colonial Homestead Green pattern. The design has that classic early American look that was very popular in mid-century kitchens. Each plate shows a cozy colonial room scene with a rocking chair and tall grandfather clock, surrounded by a soft green border. It has the kind of simple country charm that fits right in with farmhouse or cottage style kitchens. Royal China produced this pattern around the late 1940s into the 1950s, when many American families were setting up their first homes after the war. These were everyday dishes meant to be used, which is why they were made sturdy enough to last.
This listing is for a set of four salad plates. They are a nice size for salads, sandwiches, or desserts and the green pattern still displays beautifully. They would look great on the table, in a farmhouse kitchen, or added to an existing Colonial Homestead set.
