This is a vintage Syracuse China platter in the Dearborn pattern. The soft cream china platter is decorated with a delicate border of pink flowers and green vines, finished with what was once a bright gold trim. Made by Syracuse China in New York, this platter dates to around the late 1930s to early 1950s, a time when American china companies were producing durable pieces meant to be used every day. And this one certainly was. The gold trim along the edge shows heavy wear, and the center has utensil marks from years of serving meals. Even so, the platter still has a nice shine and the floral pattern remains beautiful around the border. It’s the kind of piece that carries a little history with it — the kind of platter that likely held roast chicken, potatoes, or Sunday ham more times than anyone could count. Today it would make a lovely addition to a vintage table setting, farmhouse kitchen, or simply as a display piece with a story behind it.
