When Karen Carpenter’s voice comes through the speakers, it has that soft, warm sound that made this album one of the defining records of the early 1970s. Released by A&M Records, this album includes the hit “(They Long To Be) Close To You” along with other favorites like “We’ve Only Just Begun.” It was the record that really launched the Carpenters into the spotlight and made Karen’s voice one of the most recognizable sounds on the radio.
