Vintage 'Meet The Beatles' LP Record by The Beatles on Capitol Records. This stereo pressing features the iconic black cover with the band's famous portrait image and Gold Record Award seal. A classic piece of rock and roll history from the height of Beatlemania. This vintage LP has been previously owned and enjoyed over the years. The cover shows heavy edge wear, yellowing, surface rubbing, a 2-inch seam split on the top edge, and a 1-inch seam split on the bottom edge. The original inner sleeve is included and shows yellowing, tears, and seam splits from age and use. The vinyl record shows visible play wear and multiple light scratches consistent with years of use. No cracks, chips, or deep feelable scratches were observed. The record has not been play tested and is being sold as-is. History
Released in January 1964, Meet The Beatles! was the album that introduced millions of Americans to the Beatles and helped launch Beatlemania across the United States. Built around the smash hit "I Want to Hold Your Hand," the album quickly climbed to the top of the charts and became one of the defining records of the British Invasion. Unlike many British releases of the period, Capitol Records created a unique American version of the album specifically for the U.S. market. The striking black cover featuring the four band members became one of the most recognizable album covers in music history.
