A beautiful set of four Homer Laughlin Golden Wheat luncheon plates in exceptional vintage condition. Each plate features the familiar golden wheat design on creamy ivory china with a delicate 22K gold trimmed rim. The pattern has become a favorite with collectors of mid-century American dinnerware because of its simple, timeless design.
These plates have obviously been well cared for over the years. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing, and the gold trim remains bright with little to no rubbing. Only a few extremely light utensil marks can be seen under bright light.

Please Note:
Only two plates have the Golden Wheat backstamp, which is normal for many vintage china sets of this era, as manufacturers often marked only part of a production run. The pattern, shape, color, and trim all match beautifully across the set.
History
Homer Laughlin introduced the Golden Wheat pattern during the postwar years, and it remained in production from approximately 1949 through 1966. The pattern became especially well known during the 1950s when pieces were offered as promotional premiums with boxes of Duz laundry detergent, allowing families to build complete dinnerware sets one piece at a time. Made in the USA and finished with 22K gold trim, Golden Wheat combined everyday durability with an elegant appearance and remains one of Homer Laughlin's most recognizable mid-century patterns.
