Made in Taiwan during the late 1970s or early 1980s, this stoneware teapot is a good example of the practical kitchen pieces that found their way into homes across America. Finished in warm cream and tan earth tones with a speckled glaze, it reflects the country kitchen style that was popular during the era. The rounded shape, comfortable handle, and pedestal base give it a classic look that still fits beautifully in today's farmhouse, cottage, or rustic kitchen. With a three-cup capacity, it's just the right size for an afternoon tea or sharing a cup with a friend. A nice addition to a country kitchen, stoneware collection, or everyday tea service.

History
During the 1970s and early 1980s, Taiwan became one of the world's leading producers of quality stoneware for export. Department stores and gift shops throughout North America sold these durable ceramic pieces because they were attractive, affordable, and made for everyday use. The warm earth-tone glazes reflected the country decorating style that became popular during the era. Many pieces were sold without a manufacturer's name and were simply marked "Taiwan," making the country of origin the primary identification. Based on its design, glaze, and impressed Taiwan mark, this teapot dates to approximately 1975–1983.
A great gift idea for a wedding, holiday, or other special occasion.
