History
Anchor Hocking introduced the Golden Shell pattern under its popular Fire-King line. Produced in bright white milk glass, the pattern is recognized by its graceful shell-like swirl design, gently scalloped edges, and delicate gold trim. The combination gave everyday dinnerware a refined appearance while retaining the durability that made Fire-King a household favorite. Fire-King glassware was manufactured by Anchor Hocking beginning in the early 1940s and quickly became known for its quality and practicality. During the 1950s and 1960s, white milk glass dinnerware became increasingly popular as families looked for attractive table settings that could stand up to regular use while still looking elegant enough for entertaining.
