A lovely vintage Royal Stafford bone china teacup and saucer celebrating the floral emblems of Canada. Made in England, the set features colorful flowers representing the Canadian provinces, with the flowers identified by name and province around the cup and saucer. A maple leaf decorates the front of the cup above the words “Floral Emblems Canada,” with another maple leaf featured in the center of the saucer.
The flowers include Wild Rose for Alberta, Dogwood for British Columbia, Crocus for Manitoba, Violets for New Brunswick, Pitcher Plant for Newfoundland, Trailing Arbutus for Nova Scotia, Lady Slipper for Prince Edward Island, Iris for Quebec and Tiger Lily for Saskatchewan.
Gold trim adorns the rims, foot and handle.
This is an especially attractive Canadian souvenir piece because it also stands nicely on its own as an English bone china teacup and saucer. It would make a lovely addition to a teacup collection, Canadian collection, or a thoughtful gift for someone with ties to Canada.

Royal Stafford has its roots in the Staffordshire pottery industry of England, with the company tracing its history to 1845. The Royal Stafford name became associated with English bone china and decorative tableware during the 20th century. This Floral Emblems of Canada teacup and saucer was produced for the souvenir market and features flowers associated with the Canadian provinces. Pieces such as this combined the long tradition of English bone china manufacture with souvenir designs intended for travelers and the export market.
