A beautiful English teacup in crisp white bone china, covered with sprays of blue cornflowers and finished with bright gold trim. This vintage cup and saucer was made in England by Paragon Fine Bone China. The cup has a gently flared rim, softly ribbed body and an ornate curved handle highlighted in gold. Blue cornflowers with green foliage decorate both sides of the cup, while matching floral sprays circle the saucer. The gold trim is particularly nice on this set. It remains bright around the rims, foot and decorative handle, giving the blue and white floral design just enough extra detail without overpowering it. A lovely choice for a vintage teacup collection, an afternoon tea table, or simply for someone who still believes tea tastes better from a proper bone china cup.

History
Paragon's history reaches back to 1897, when the Star China Company was established in Longton, Staffordshire, one of the major pottery-producing districts of Stoke-on-Trent, England. The Paragon trade name was introduced in 1903, and the business later became the Paragon China Company. Paragon became especially well known for fine bone china tea wares and received royal recognition for its work. Earlier Paragon pieces carried warrants connected with Queen Mary, while later pieces reflected the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
