Synopsis:
It is Christmas Eve in New York City, and Catherine Dornan is trying to keep the spirits of her two young sons up while their father undergoes treatment for leukemia. When seven-year-old Brian sees a woman take his mother’s wallet, he follows her. Inside the wallet is a treasured St. Christopher medal that once saved his grandfather's life during World War II, and Brian is convinced the medal can now protect his father. His determination to retrieve it takes him into the New York subway and eventually into far greater danger than he could have imagined. Silent Night is a short, fast-moving Christmas story built around suspense, family, courage and faith.

History:
Silent Night was published by Simon & Schuster in 1995, during a period when Mary Higgins Clark was already one of America's best-known suspense writers. Unlike many of her full-length novels, Silent Night was written as a compact Christmas suspense story and was released just in time for the holiday season on October 16, 1995.
