A lovely vintage English bone china teacup and saucer by Duchess in the Stella pattern, number 370, dating to approximately the 1950s. The teacup features a beautiful floral design of pink roses and white flowers accented with green foliage and delicate touches of color. The coordinating saucer has a larger mixed floral bouquet with additional smaller flower sprays. Both pieces have gently scalloped edges finished with bright gold trim. The cup has a graceful, shaped handle and raised foot, giving it the classic appearance associated with mid-century English bone china. A pretty addition to a vintage teacup collection and equally lovely displayed in a china cabinet or used for afternoon tea.

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition.
No chips, cracks or crazing. The gold trim remains bright and shiny with very little wear. The cup interior is clean.
History:
Duchess bone china was produced in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England, an area at the heart of the historic English pottery industry. The Duchess name became associated with A. T. Finney & Sons, which acquired the Duchess China Works during the 1930s and produced bone china tea ware decorated in the traditional floral styles that became particularly popular during the mid-20th century.
