Vintage Colonial Homestead creamer by Royal China, made in the USA circa 1950s. Colonial Homestead was one of Royal China's postwar American dinnerware patterns, decorated with a variety of Early American and Colonial-inspired motifs. This creamer features the pattern's distinctive pine-green underglaze decoration, including a framed “God Bless Our Home” sampler design, silhouette cameo and additional small decorative motifs. The unusual shape has a long sweeping spout and curved handle, with the green decoration wrapping around the body. The interior and lower portion are left in the warm white ceramic ground. A fun replacement piece for an existing Colonial Homestead service, or an individual example of mid-century American transfer-decorated dinnerware.
Condition:
This creamer has no chips, cracks, crazing, or other marks. The green decoration remains strong, and the interior is clean.

History
The Royal China Company was founded in Sebring, Ohio, in 1934 and became an important American producer of affordable decorated dinnerware. Royal specialized in durable, mass-produced patterns intended for everyday households rather than expensive formal china.
Colonial Homestead appeared around 1950, during a period when Colonial Revival and Early American decorating remained popular in American homes. Rather than using one repeating picture throughout a dinner service, Royal decorated different pieces with assorted nostalgic scenes and motifs associated with an idealized Colonial household.
A Royal advertisement published in Life magazine on April 21, 1952 described Colonial Homestead as having a different Colonial scene on each piece and specifically called its color “pine green.”
