Antique Platter, F Winkle Co, Colonial Pottery, Blenheim, Stoke England, White and Brown, Earthenware
An antique platter from the 1890's. It is made by F Winkle Co Colonial Pottery, Stoke England. The pattern is called Blenheim and is a brown floral pattern along the rim on a white base. This is a heavy platter. It is a wonderful antique to add to your table, sideboard, or buffet. A wonderful useable antique platter.
Winkle & Wood (formerly of the Pearl Pottery) opened the Colonial Pottery in 1889. In 1890, F. Winkle continued the Colonial Pottery as F. Winkle & Co. (while Wood continued the Pearl Pottery). General earthenware was produced. Marks incorporate the initials F W & Co. 'Ltd' was added after 1910, and the firm continued to about 1931.

This platter is a great way to own a piece of the past and in great condition. It is lovely even considering it's age and use. It does show signs of it being used and loved. The platter has a small chip on its edge, it cannot be seen from the top. There are no cracks or crazing.
