Vintage 1979 Mt Marcy Poster Signed Adirondack Landscape 18x24

$35.00

There was a time when visitors came to Lake Placid and brought the Adirondacks home rolled carefully under their arm. This original vintage poster features Mt Marcy — New York State’s highest peak — captured in deep winter from the historic Plateau Lean-to, a backcountry shelter that no longer exists today. The photograph was taken in February 1972 during true High Peaks winter conditions, when the mountain stood quiet under snow and ice. The scene captures more than a mountain — it preserves a moment in Adirondack history: skis resting beside the lean-to, heavy snowpack, and Mt Marcy rising in the distance exactly as winter hikers experienced it.

Printed in 1979 by Adirondack Cards, this poster was originally sold in Lake Placid souvenir shops during the height of the region’s outdoor tourism era. Each poster is personally signed by the photographer, making it both Adirondack memorabilia and authentic period landscape photography.

Today, pieces like this appeal not only to mountain lovers, but to collectors of regional photography, skiing history, and Adirondack camp décor. After the poster is framed (not included) it would be perfect for a camp, lodge, office, or anyone who carries a lasting connection to the High Peaks.
