1959 Hardcover Book, The Treasure in the Little Trunk, Helen Fuller Orton, No Dust Jacket, Children's Fiction,

A hardcover children's fictional novel by Helen Fuller Orton. It is entitled, The Treasure in the Little Trunk. This is a 1959 Edition. The book's hardcover is gray cloth with title and portrait on the front in white and black.

The Armstrong family are pioneers. This book details the journey of twelve-year-old Kanah's and ten-year-old Patty's trip from Vermont to a new farm in western New York State. It is alive with truth, color, and interest, and the treasure in the little leather trunk, hidden away in the covered wagon, plays a large part in that wonderful year.

Helen Fuller was born on Nov. 1, 1872, on her family's farm, between Sanborn and Pekin, N.Y. Both of her parents were teachers, and she taught elementary school herself before marrying Jesse F. Orton. Her writing career began at the age of 48 in children's literature writing nature stories for small children. Later she turned to historical stories and mysteries for juveniles. Orton continued to write and lecture about children's fiction until her death, on Feb. 16, 1955, in Queens, N.Y.
