A hardcover fictional novel by Robert Standish. It is entitled Elephant Walk. This is a 1948 First American Edition. The book's hardcover is tan cloth with title in dark green and a portrait of an elephant on the front in brown. This was made into a movie in 1954.
On Ceylon, Tom Carey changed failure in coffee to success in tea planting and made an enemy when he built his big manor across a long-used elephant trail. His motherless son inherits the land and house as well as the vengeance of the elephants.
Digby George Gerahty (1898 – 1981), wrote under the pennames of Robert Standish and Stephen Lister. He was an English novelist and short story writer during the 1940s and 1950s. He was also a featured contributor to the Saturday Evening Post.
