EAPG Crystal Trumpet Vase, McKee Bros., Squat Pineapple, Lone Star, Antique, Heavy Glass
This is a very beautiful antique EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass) crystal trumpet vase by McKee Bros. It is in the Squat Pineapple Pattern also known as Lone Star Pattern. This vase is made from heavy glass. It has a gorgeous shine that catches the light that causes a prism effect. A great item to hold flowers received as gifts or from your own garden. This is a fantastic vase to show them off to perfection.
McKee Glass Company started operation as McKee and Brothers Glass Works, manufacturers of crystal glassware, in 1853. The factory was originally in Pittsburgh, PA (1853-1888) the company then moved to Westmoreland County and settled in Jeannette which was founded by H. Sellers McKee, the owner of the McKee plant. Jeannette is located approximately 27 miles east of Pittsburgh. The city became world renowned for its glass and has been appropriately nicknamed “Glass City.”
The McKee factory left the McKee family when the National Glass Company was formed and they continued to operate under the McKee Glass Company name.
