Antique Bottle, Ozomulsion, Amber (Brown) Glass, Circa 1890, Medicine Bottle, Embossed, Patent Medicine, Embossed, Quack Medicine, Cure Bottle

A wonderful amber (brown) glass antique Ozomulsion bottle with a flat applied lip. The bottle is from circa 1890. It would be an ideal addition to a pharmaceutical bottle collection. A great gift idea for a collector.

Ozomulsion was a patent medicine that was advertised as a cure for many ailments. This was common of many of the patent medicines of this time period. The ailments this was said to cure were colds, coughs, catarrh, consumption (tuberculosis), throat troubles, scrofula (tuberculosis of the neck), eczema, pimples, boils, abscesses, and all skin affections.

The ingredients of Ozomulsion were:
Norwegian Cod Liver Oil
Hypophosphites
Guaiacol

These ingredients didn't hurt anyone but they also didn't cure anyone either.
