A wonderful aqua antique bottle with a flat applied lip. This is Dr. Hayden's Viburnum Compound. The bottle is from circa 1886. This bottle would have had a paper label. It would be an ideal addition to a pharmaceutical bottle collection. A great gift idea for a collector.
Dr. Haden was never a pharmacist or a chemist. When he invented his Viburnum Compound in 1860 he wasn't even a doctor. He did receive a medical degree from Eclectic Medical College, NY, in 1867. He produced this patent medicine and distributed it himself.
Dr. Hayden's Viburnum Compound was for:
Hysteria
Bilious Colic
Cramps
Nervous diseases of Pregnancy
Threatened Abortion
Post Partum Pains
Puerperal Convulsions
Dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps)
Menorrhagia (prolonged menstrual bleeding)

This bottle is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks. There are bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process.

I love my beautiful antique bottles (I ordered two). They were packed well and arrived in perfect condition. They both look exactly as pictured. The owners were wonderful to work with. : )
