Antique Bread and Butter Plate, FC Co, French China Co, Bird and Floral, Rare
A charming bread and butter plate by FC Co (French China Co). The pattern is a bird in a circle surrounded by flowers. There is a blue line on the verge of the plate. It would be wonderful on a buffet, sideboard or dining table.
The French China Company was founded in 1899. In 1916 it became part of the Sebring Manufacturing Co along with Strong Manufacturing and Saxon China. All three plants retained their individual names at that time. In 1929 the Sebring group joined the American Chinaware Corporation and in 1931 the American Chinaware Corporation failed. Then in 1932 both French China and Saxon China stopped production.
6 1/4 inches in diameter
This plate is in good condition. There are no chips or cracks. The plate does have crazing and the gold edges are worn. This plate does show its age. The FC Co stamp on the back is smeared which happened during the manufacturing process.
