Children's Hardcover Book, Fox Eyes, Margaret Wise Brown, Garth Williams, Fiction, Illustrated, Collectible, 1977 Edition
A wonderfully charming children's hardcover book titled Fox Eyes by Margaret Wise Brown. The cover is illustrated, by Garth Williams, with a fox with large eyes. Williams does all the illustrations in the book and they are enchanting. Age Range: 5 - 6 years
A fox causes consternation among the animals whose secrets he discovers. Little do they realize that because of the fox's secret, they have no cause for worry. A 1951 edition, with stylized illustrations by Jean Chariot, failed to take hold but Garth Williams' naturalistic, softer animals make the story much more appealing.
Margaret Wise Brown (May 23, 1910 – November 13, 1952) was an American writer of children's books, including the novels Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny.
Garth Montgomery Williams (April 16, 1912 – May 8, 1996) was an American artist who came to prominence in the American postwar era as an illustrator of children's books. Many of the books he illustrated have become classics of American children's literature. His friendly, fuzzy baby animals populated a dozen Little Golden Books.
